Mobilize for change
We believe that you can make change – whatever your role and wherever you stand in your Jewish organization and community.
AWP’s Better Work, Better Life Campaign is enlisting 100 Jewish organizations to adopt formal flexibility and paid parental leave. If your organization wants to retain the best talent, support high performance, and honor personal and caregiving needs, we will supply you with knowledge and tools – to persuade your CEO, help Human Resources make the case, and implement smart policies. Find out if your organization qualifies and what good policies look like.
Our Action Learning Teams have trained more than 50 women professionals to advance their careers and be effective change agents. Our alumni are ambitious professionals who are making their voices heard and taking seats at decision-making tables in the Jewish community.
Our Men as Allies initiative has recruited more than 70 institutional CEOs, volunteer leaders, rabbis, and scholars – all of whom pledge not to appear on public panels without women. These allies are changing the narrative about Jewish wisdom. And more – they are stepping up for gender equity, from pay and promotions to selection committees and work-life policy. Meet our allies and find out how you can take the pledge.
The Op-Ed Project, founded by Katie Orenstein, trains women to bring their voices and viewpoints into the critical public debates of our time. AWP’s partnership with the Op-Ed Project has resulted in many published op-eds by Jewish women clergy, professionals, and volunteer leaders. Learn how you can participate.
AWP’s conferences gather diverse groups of Jewish women and men – across geography, generation, denomination, and discipline – to share experiences and strategies for closing the gender gap, building shared leadership, and contributing to a more relevant, inclusive Jewish community. Take a look at our conference programs and and see how you can adapt them for your own groups.
